Faux Leather is super in this season and I have to say that although I was originally pretty skeptical, I have become a fan. Leather is the perfect touch to any outfit, especially if you are trying to transition from work clothes to going out clothes.

These pieces are all really affordable and because I've done some window shopping recently and tried them on (lets be real, I've purchased most of them) I can say that they're also really comfortable!

Tuesday Thoughts

My love for the beach is something I talk about all the time, but I swear as I get older it gets harder and harder for me to accept that summer is over. Growing up my family spent every summer in a beach town about an hour away from Boston. I loved spending my days swimming in the ocean, splashing in the tidal pools ,and going to bed with sandy toes and salt covered hair.

My parents now live full time in the house that used to be our beach house. I suffer from severe jealousy that they get to wake up every morning, whether it be summer, spring, winter or fall, and look at the ocean.

This past weekend I went home for one last warm (it wasn't even that warm) walk on the beach. I felt the sand at my toes, the wind on my face, and the perfect serenity that surrounds our beautiful beach. As I sit here, on this Tuesday in October, I can't help but dream of the perfect days spent this past summer with a book in hand, relaxing on a beach chair, with not a care in the world.

Only eight more months until my pure happiness is back, and I am complete again.
Looking at pictures will have to do until then!

Day TEN: Love, Love, Love!

Today is day TEN of the Ms. CourtneyLeighB Challenge

Thanks to all of you who participated and took each new day as a separate challenge to overcome. The theme of our final day is to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.

My goal throughout this entire challenge was to remind my readers of the simple things in life that we can all take for granted. We have learned to meditate and be peaceful, to get up early and start our day off strong, to be kind, to break old habits and start new ones, to give thanks, to forgive and forget, to never be afraid, and to organize.

I really wanted to incorporate my values, thoughts, beliefs, and dreams into this ten day challenge to not only inspire and challenge ya'll, but to also let you get to know me a little better. I hope that through reading my posts and hearing some of my stories you have, in some way, resonated with this challenge and tried to incorporate it into your life.

The last day is simple. I wanted to end on a high note, but also to challenge you to do something you may not think to specifically "do."

Love. Love your family, love your friends, love your enemies, because life is short, and can be taken from us in a moment's notice. There is no time for hate, for anger or for resentment. One of my favorite quotes is what I think of when I think of the meaning of love.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."

Thank you so much for reading, for sharing, and for all the kind words about the Ms. CourtneyLeighB Challenge. I have loved sharing my thoughts with you each day and I can't wait to see what is ahead on my blogging journey!

xo,
Courtney Leigh

Day Nine: Organize

Today is day NINE in the Ms. CourtneyLeighB Challenge

The theme of today is to get organized!! I am a VERY organized (to say the least) person. Some call it being OCD, but I call it a way of life. I absolutely love organizing, purging, moving things around, and decluttering every home/dorm/apartment that I live in! One of my favorite things to do is to set up a new space and make it my own!

I'm a dork, I know.

There are many ways to go about getting organized when setting up a new space. I think the reason why I have been successful, and why I find it to be so easy is due to the fact that I have the "basics" to work with each time I move.

Below you will find all my favorite organizing essentials!

1. I love using these Container Store drawers to hold my t-shirts, shorts and workout tanks. They come in lots of colors and can be stacked!
2. These Love Hangers are the perfect no slip hanger. The heart in the middle is also great for putting a scarf through, or hanging a necklace from when you're planning out your outfits!
3. You can never have too many BINS! I use these hard plastic bins in my linen closet to contain all my hairsprays, lotions, and various products.
4. A Hanging Jewelry Organizer is perfect for keeping all your baubles in one place and tangle free! It also makes it really easy to move and travel with your jewelry.
5. A ceramic Makeup Brush Holder helps to make your vanity look crisp and put together.
6. These plastic Multipurpose Drawers are my favorite to hold all my compacts, mascaras, and lipsticks!
7. Fabric Bins can be used to organize bookshelves, pantry shelves and under the sink storage. They come in tons of different colors and are perfect for hiding "junk" and leaving a clean look.
8. Pottery Barn Teen is a great place to look for all your beauty and home organizational needs. Their Ultimate Beauty Organizer looks beautiful on top of a dresser and keeps all your essentials close at hand.

I challenge you to take one area of your home and organize it. It can be your entire closet or just a section, your dresser drawers or the mess under the sink. Take one area and tackle it. Toss the items that are empty or that are expired (you know all those products and samples that you've acquired over the past year and shoved somewhere out of sight), and donate the items that you don't wear or fit into (if you haven't worn it in the past year, donate it!)

Trust me when I say that you will feel SO much better after you organize and clean out your living space. Have fun! Happy cleaning!

Thanks for reading!
