This particular gift guide started off as fun gifts for "her", but ended up going in a different direction when I realized that most of these gifts are pretty extravagant or what I call "lust list" items.
I have always had a "work hard, play hard" motto, so that is what I am leaning towards when it comes to this gift guide. These are all fabulous items to gift (especially around this time of the year), but could also be fun to reward yourself with as well. I am a firm believer that we must remember to have self love, and to treat ourselves in order to stay upbeat and motivated.
Don't get me wrong, getting a pair of stellar leopard shoes like the ones pictured above can make you feel great, but self love can also come in numerous other forms. For me I try to do one thing for myself every day. I should do more, but sometimes life can get hectic!
For example: when I am at work and things are insane, ie the phone is ringing, people are e-mailing me a million different tasks, and I feel like my head is spinning, I tell myself that come 1PM, I am going to leave my desk and go to the gym. Sometimes this means getting on the treadmill and walking at a quick pace for just 30 minutes while catching up on last week's episode of Grey's Anatomy on Hulu. Although it may not seem like long, this small window of time allows me to refocus, calm my spinning brain, gain more energy, and prepare for the rest of my workday.
Another "self love" idea is to get a pedicure or go and get one of those ridiculously over priced smoothies that you always want, but know you can't get every day. Sometimes is it the little things that can totally redirect your day and get you moving in a more positive direction.
Lots of love from Boston,
Courtney
